Location

The wedding will take place at the Old Courthouse on the Square in Decatur, GA. Decatur is a beautiful, comfortable and historic city within Atlanta's parameter. There are dozens of shops, restaurants and bars withing walking distance of the Courthouse, which means--unless you prefer to have one--you won't need a car. Here's a list of my favorite places that are easy to get too. All establishments that serve food and alcohol are completely kid friendly, unless otherwise noted.

Restaurants and Bars:

Java Monkey- Fun and cozy independent coffee shop, much better than Starbucks (although there's one of those around the corner, too)
The Brick Store- Great pub food and huge beer and single malt scotch collection
Crescent Moon- The best breakfast place in the neighborhood
Mellow Mushroom Pizza- My fave GA pizza
Noodle- Delicious pan-Asian with a great atmosphere
Raging Burrito- huge, yummy, laid-back. Small bar within with a great ATL beer selection
Sage- More upscale, but super delish
Birdi's- Good and affordable American food, fun atmosphere, more of a martini bar after ten pm.
Sushi Avenue
Taco Mac- ATL area chain with bar food and super extensive beer list. Always some kind of sport playing on their various TVs. (Bar and restaurant, kid friendly during the day)
Trackside Tavern- My favorite bar in Decatur. Kind of a dive, but super laid back with pool and darts (bar, not kid friendly)
Twain's Billiards and Tap- Big pool hall, clean and fun (bar, not kid friendly)
Viet Chateau- DELISH Vietnamese!
Watershed- Owned by the Indigo Girls, this is incredible--if somewhat pricey--Southern food.

Shops:

Honestly, there are so many you may just need to walk around. Most are small and independently owned, which means you'll find tons of fantastic stuff.
